Food Bank Donation
£10 Donation to CPR Foodbank in aid of the campaign to End Child Food Poverty and provide free meals for children who need them through the school holidays.
This is our original post on social media:
When MPs voted against extending free school meal vouchers through the holidays earlier this week, we, along with many of you, were horrified. All Cornish MPs voted against this motion which would have given some security to the most vulnerable in our communities.
Loads of amazing local businesses like @the_refillstore and @castlebeachcafefalmouth have stepped up to offer their help to those who need it most.
I’ve been thinking how Cornish Food Box could make the most difference and have come to the conclusion that we need to make sure any help is properly targeted at those who need it so we are planning to make a donation of food to the food bank so we know it’ll be distributed properly.
My plan is to speak to the CPR Food Bank next week to find out what they need. We would then invite any of our customers and suppliers to make a donation as well, so that together we can get the most bang for our buck and take it from there.
If anyone has a better suggestion of ways to make a genuine difference please let me know as I’ve gone through various options and so far I think this is the best one!
We will put a link on our website for donations and then we’ll use our great relations with suppliers and our trade accounts to get as much useful items as we possibly can and hope that we are able to help a few local families out during difficult times.
100% of any money donated will be used to buy food needed by the food bank to help look after families in crisis during the school holidays and the rest of 2020, which has been an incredibly tough year for so many local people.
