Cornish Lemon Sole Fillets 340g
Lemon Sole is landed in significant volumes around the south west coast and is an important commercial species. We source net caught, day boat lemon sole as this is the most sustainable catch method.
A small flat fish with a tiny head and mouth that lives on stony and gravelly seabeds, from depths of 20m to 200m. Despite the name, lemon sole doesn't actually taste anything like lemon, but rather has a sweet, delicate flavour. The name instead, refers to the shape of the fish, which is rather lemon-like. The fish isn't actually a sole either, but a flounder.
It has delicate, sweet white flesh and is best cooked simply, either grilled or fried, and served with a light sauce. Lemon sole is readily available all year round from our boats, but is best from July until February.
We sell this in packs of fillets with its tasty skin on.
