Cornish Whiting Fillets 180g
Whiting is a good fish to use in fishcakes and homemade fish fingers or coated in breadcrumbs or batter and fried. It is also delicious in fish pates and mousses.
Like pollock, its taste is sensational if eaten very fresh. The flesh becomes flaky very quickly and this makes it impossible to fillet if it is not fresh.
Whiting has delicate white flesh and is best used when very fresh. Sold whole and filleted, fresh or frozen. Also dried, salted and smoked. Whiting is an under appreciated fish that, amongst many other uses makes a great alternative to cod in fish and chips!
Its flesh is light, firm, lean, sweet and delicate but can turn mushy if cooked too slowly so we recommend pan frying or using other quick cooking methods.
Our whiting is sold in as fillets skin on, serving 2.
