Our handmade Penny's Cornish Game Pie is a stunning centrepiece pie, built for festive tables, generous gatherings, and memorable Christmas gifts. Baked by hand in Cornwall, it embodies centuries-old pie-making craft — rustic yet refined, hearty yet elegant.
This spectacular hot-water crust pie is packed with a rich, layered filling of pheasant, duck, venison, ham, pork and pistachio nuts, dressed with sage, apricot and cranberries, and finished with port wine and redcurrant jelly. It's a firm favourite every Christmas, and one of our most popular gifts — perfect for sending to loved ones, friends, or clients who deserve something a little different.
These are cold cutting pies, designed to be eaten cold, though they can also be reheated (see instructions below). Fully cooked and ready to eat, they'll keep in the fridge for 7 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
Choose your size:
500g - 2-3pp - 20 minutes to reheat
1kg - 5+pp - 40 minutes to reheat
2kg - 10+pp - 60 minutes to reheat
Ingredients: Pheasant, duck, venison, ham, pork, pistachio nuts, sage, apricot, cranberries, port, redcurrant jelly.
Allergens: Milk, egg, wheat, pistachio.
Reheating instructions: Preheat the oven to 140°C. Place the pie on a rack and cover with foil or baking parchment to protect the pastry.
The pie must be probed and reach a temperature above 75°C in the middle before serving — use an accurate temperature probe to check.
