Description / Penny's Festive Pork & Redcurrant Jelly Pie 2kg

Traditional hand raised hot water crust pie packed full of pork and topped with a jewelled redcurrant and cranberry jelly. 

This pie provides 10+ servings.

PORK and REDCURRANT JELLY 

Ingredients: Pork, redcurrant jelly (sugar, redcurrant juice, pectin, lemon juice) cranberries, wheat flour (calcium carbonate, nicotinamide, iron, thiamine), butter (milk), sunflower oil, salt, pepper, chicken stock, egg wash

Allergies: egg, milk, wheat

Made in an environment that handles nuts.

 

PENNY’S PIES - FESTIVE PIES

These are cold cutting pies and are designed to be eaten cold

 

STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS 


All pies are cooked and ready to eat.  

Store  in a fridge and consume within 7 days.

They can be frozen and kept for up to three months

To thaw, allow 24 hours in a cool place.  Put the pie on a rack and cover with a clean cloth to allow air around the pie.


REHEATING


The pies can be eaten hot, but should then be consumed and not reheated again.


To reheat, preheat the oven to 140 Deg C and put the pie on a rack and cover with foil or baking parchment to protect the pastry.  


Approximate reheating times are:


500g - 20 mins

1Kg - 40 mins

2kg - 50-60 mins


The pie MUST be probed and the temperature above 75 Deg C  in the middle of the pie.

Use an accurate temperature probe for this.
